The National Medical Devices Policy 2023 has been approved by the Indian government to encourage the sector’s expansion.
The goal of the policy is to increase domestic production and decrease medical device imports.
In the following 25 years, the government wants to capture 10 to 12 percent of the growing global market share.
The policy includes strategies to address six major areas, such as regulatory simplification, supportive infrastructure, and innovation.
To accomplish the goals of the policy, the government has started a production-linked incentive program for medical devices and is establishing four medical device parks in various states.
